Trauma
At some point in our lives, all of us will feel upset, shocked or stressed by an occurrence in our lives. This might be something we have witnessed that is distressing or something we have experienced in our past. The emotions we feel are very common and normal for a human being. But, for some people, it feels impossible to cope and the feelings can impact negatively on a person’s life for many years, affecting their physical and mental wellbeing. Do you think this is something that has been happening to you? If so, then please realise that what you are experiencing is quite common and, as a result, we have the know-how to treat your trauma.

What Is Trauma?
Traumatic events in one’s life, whether in childhood or adult life, can have long-lasting effects on one’s wellbeing.
Many experience heightened stress levels and feelings of helplessness and constant fear.
This can manifest itself as a result of sexual, physical or other experiences. Sometimes, the feelings lay dormant for many years and surface later in life, perhaps linked to emerging addiction or emotional issues.
Experiencing such trauma is very personal and something many sufferers are reluctant to discuss. Your own experiences are unique and individuals can be affected in very different ways. Trauma may be sparked by witnessing a frightening event or living in a traumatic and distressing environment or perhaps being sexually abused as a child or seeing abuse or violence.
If you have been harassed, discriminated against or bullied, then trauma may be linked to this. Typical feelings include those of abandonment, humiliation, fear and rejection, shame and helplessness.
As you would expect, with so many people suffering from such issues, there have been great advances in treatments for trauma, so your concerns can be addressed and resolved by our professional trauma team with the highest level of evidence-based treatments at their disposal.
